1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Description

*******. *******

This listing is for a 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente built to be a Dyno Don or AF/X clone. This car is a very well built street and strip car. The car was built with the intent to drive it on regular roads, but can be taken to the track as well. No expense was spare to include a very built 460motor with dual quad carbs, lightening rod shifters attached to a C6 transmission, straight axle, custom floor, 10 point cage, custom period correct dash, and more. This Mercury Comet has the rare and hard to find hood, air cleaner assembly, and valve covers. See full description below. This car was completely disassembled with the firewall and floor being re-engineered, and re-built to support the build as can be seen in the pictures.

The motor is built on a 1971 460 block, with 1973 heads, an Edelbrock performance kit cam, Edelbrock intake manifold, Dual Holley 4BBL carburetors, Mallory ignition with billet distributor, external oil pump and dry sump oil system, cool can, Headerman full length headers, new exhaust, new timing chain and gears, and many other new parts. We do not know the exact internal specifications of the motor as this vehicle came from an estate sale. The build is very recent, very expensive, and very well done.

The transmission is a C6 automatic with Lightening Rod shifters, a B&M shift kit, and a B&M high volumepanthat pushes power through an 8.8posi-traction rear axle with 327 gears. The front axle was rebuilt and has new king pins.

In addition, the car has period correct ladder bars, traction bars, line lockers, and front disc brakes for traction and stopping power.

The body is very straight, and has zero rust or rot. The body includes a fiberglass hood, doors, fenders, trunk lid, andlower rear quarter panels. The paintshows very well from a few feet away, but there are imperfections in the paint work on the car. There are some drips and runs in the paint. It needs finishing sanding, buffing, and a few areas touched up.

While the build is not complete, the vast majority of what is needed to complete the car is included in the sale. We have pictures of anything you'd like to see andalso have pictures of the car throughout the build from the estate where the vehicle was purchased that can be provided upon request.

Additional parts included:

-New Painless wiring harness

- Seats with 4 point harnesses

- Exterior trim (90%+ of the individual pieces)

- Interior trim

- Additional set of heads

- Door seals, trunk seals, interior pieces, new harnesses, tail lights, tons of hardware, misc Wildwood brake parts, and more. Please see pictures.

The list to complete the car includes but is not limited tofinishingplumbing of external oil pump, door seals, weather stripping, exterior trim, the brake lines are 80% run, remainder of new wiring harness, passenger side doorglass, door internals, fuel lines, and othermiscellaneous items. Please see pictures for current state of the vehicle, and please ask any questions about specific systems needing to be completed prior to bidding.

Clean Massachusetts title in hand. The title is not a TMU or "True Mileage Unknown" title. The title states 56,922 miles with a title issuedate of 05/26/2017. The odometer has been removed from the car, so we do not have the exact mileage.

We have too many projects currently in process so this Comet has to be sold before we are able to complete it. This is truly painful to sell incomplete, our loss is your gain.

We have sold many collectible vehicles on eBay in the past and have always had positive transactions. Please keep in mind that this is car is not complete, and will not be a running and driving vehicle until finished. We have inspected the car to the best of our abilities in the state that it is in. We have disclosed everything that we are aware of, but take no responsibility for anything that we were unable to see, inspect, or test while in possession of the vehicle.

Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Bidders with less than 3 feedback must contactus before bidding.
