1977 Mercury Cougar Station Wagon Description
All original, less than 57,000 miles, running 400 Ford, automatic transmission, PS, PB, front disc brakes completely rebuilt from the soft lines out, rear drums adjusted, A/C there but condition unknown. Carb needs rebuilding or maybe just a power valve. Has an exhaust leak, PO told me the right exhaust manifold was cracked, used pair of factory exhaust manifolds is included. The PO also fitted the car with a nice sounding dual exhaust, CATs have been deleted.
Body has ZERO rust (after market Ziebart type rustproofing was done at or shortly after purchase) but has some dents and dangs, none major. The wood grain is original. not in great condition but all original. Magic tailgate works in both directions, window motor works but glass does not move (included is an NOS gear for the motor). Stainless trim has some dings and dents but is all there. Bumpers are nice. Has all the lights and they all work.
Interior has some wear but all seats are in great condition. Split bench seat, 6 way drivers seat, fold down backseat, rear facing "wayback" seat, AM-FM 8 Track Stereo, Intermittent wipers, PW, courtesy lighting package. Beautiful dash pad and door panels, Drivers floorboard has rust but a full floor pan from a 1978 Mercury Cougar XR7 is included.
This is no show car but easily could be, it is a perfect candidate for a full restoration. The cool factor is off the scale. Look at the pictures, if there are any others you want let me know and I'll add them. If you have any questions, let me know. I love this car and wish I had the time to devote to it but I do not. Selling with no reserve, bid to win!
