1964 Mercury Parklane Parklane Description
I have a 1964 Mercury Parklane Breezeway 2 door hardtop that needs a good home. It's all there except the hood ornament. The car runs and drives but has not been licensed since 1984. Most of the paint is the factory original applied in fall of 1963 with some spot repairs on the passenger side. Basically it is a good solid car to tinker with or some more indepth mechanical repairs a good car to drive and enjoy. The interior is in very nice condition with the exception of the typical drivers seat wear. Not to worry, I have a pair of genuine NOS seat covers for both front seats. I can send pics if that's something you need to see. Pretty much everything on this ol car works too. The lights, signals, brake lights, all interior/courtesy lights, gauges, all power windows, plus the breezeway rear window and the power seat but it needs a little assistance to mover. The radio and clock are the only thing that I know of not working. The antenna is back on but needs routed to the radio The paint is original except for some obvious spot repairs on the passenger side. The front portion of the 1/4 panel, the outer face of the front fender ans by the back bumper all had some poor paint work done decades ago. As far as rust there is a bad spot on the drivers front fender by the headlight. The drivers 1/4 panel in front of the rear wheel well, and above the passenger wheel lip molding and then down low in front of the passenger rear wheel is very small spot starting. Thats it. The frame floors, trunk, rockers, bottom of doors bottom of front fenders are all excellent. I have additional pics if you like. It starts and runs good but still has 35+ year old plugs, wires, coil, tires etc. The fuel pump works but shoots a bit of fuel out the vent hose. It is the rebuildable type fuel pump. The power steering works but has a leak from somewhere underneath. The trans goes forward and backwards properly with no delays or weird noises. You do have push forward on the shifter for the neutral safety switch to allow cranking. The brakes work as far as moving the car around or loading on a trailer. They will need gone through to be driven on the road with other drivers -again, last licensed in 1984. I recently lost a storage space and a few days ago I had to let this wonderful car sit outside. It's way too nice and survived the last 54 years to the condition you see here. It needs to remain that way. Give me a call at 573-230-6222 between 8 and 8 central time. I'd e glad to discuss it with you. It's truly a neet ol Mercury.
