1986 Mercury Colony Park station wagon 66k mi one owner 5.0L V8 3 seats nice
1986 Mercury Grand Marquis Description
It's only original once... up for bid is an 86 Mercury Colony Park wagon, very similar to the Ford Country Squire. Totally unmolested - not perfect, but cosmetic issues are very, very minor. Odometer reads 66k miles, believed correct from dealer maintenance records (Pampano Ford) and history report. Original Florida title issued in 1986, and car is lifelong southern kept in Lighthouse Point, FL.
Mechanical: 5.0L 302 V8 runs out great. Runs a little rough for the first 15-30 seconds then smooths out (that's been getting shorter the more I run it.) Newer 134 air conditioning compressor, newer distributor, newer alternator, all installed at the Ford dealer. Transmission shifts like a Ford EOD - shift through all 4 forward gears without slipping; reverse and drive are tight and quick.
Body: There is no body rust-through and no bondo or accidents. All paint and wood are original. There's minor surface rust on the driver's side of the radiator support and bottom of front doors as pictured. Undercarriage is spotless. Minor scratch on hood and some small rock chips on header panel; minor paint wear on bottom of driver's rocker panel and window frame. There's a small dent/ding under left rear taillight that damaged the trim - look close at pics.
Interior: Driver's seat is perfect. Right front seat bottom, and rear seat bottom have small tears in the vinyl from a dog. Dash has a crack on center speaker and passenger speaker. Door panels and headliner are in great shape. Small stain right rear carpet; otherwise those are nice. Cargo area carpet is good, decking is good, and 3rd seats look like they've never been used. Cigarette lighters in dash and rear doors are unused.
Electrical: Rear side door power windows don't work, and heater core is bypassed. All other power stuff works: front power windows, power locks, cruise control, dash clock, am/fm radio, power rear window all work properly.
Suspension/Tires: Shocks, springs, and bushings are all good. Tracks straight going down the road. Brakes are good with new booster and master cylinder and newer front brakes. Tires are Mastercraft whitewalls with about 5000 miles on them, but as you might know, Mastercraft whitewalls were discontinued in 2007. There is NO dry rot on the tires, but ride like there's a flat spot (again, smoothing out the more I drive, so I think they'll be fine with regular use.)
