1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible M code
1969 Mercury Cougar Description
Up for auction is a 1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible. This car is a Red on Black interior M code 351W 4 barrel car with the FMX Transmission, bucket seats, console, 9" rear, power disc brakes, power steering, power top and AM/FM stereo. The original drivetrain was long gone before I got the car. It has an 8" under it now and someone also swapped out the power disc brakes with drum brakes on the front. The power steering set up is still here. Ive included a picture of the Marti report to prove what it is and you will get a copy of it with the car. The top goes up and down by hand and latches just fine. Appears that everything for the top is here, just needs to be recovered. The car does have alot of rust issues so will need a full restoration but will be a great rare car when finished. It will need both floor pans, the trunk area and all 4 frame rails need attention if not replaced along with both torque boxes. Included from a donor 69 Convertible Cougar is all 4 frame rails in nice shape with the trunk area and torque boxes in nice shape to replace the damaged ones in the car. The convertible top structure appears to be in nice shape along with the cowl area and good rear seat pans. Does have some rust in the lower rear 1/4's. I have all the glass but the back window for the car. The windshield is in nice shape and not cracked. Doors open and shut just fine along with the trunk lid. The hood and trunk lid will need some attention but can be fixed. The dash is in very nice shape with beautiful gauges, the lenses are a little sun faded but will polish out with some work. The dash pad has acouple small cracks by the speaker grill but still a good looking pad. Tail lights are in great shape with no cracks but some small pitting in the chrome. I do not have the front or rear bumper or any of the headlight or grill stuff. All the wiring is here for the car but not sure of the shape of it. There are several extra pieces in the trunk as I have pictured laid out on the driveway. This is all I got with the car when I got it. The car does have a pair of extra fenders with it but they are 70 Fenders. There is an extra drivers door along with an extra windshield frame and rear convertible jamb area. The drum suspension on the replacement frame rails will be removed to make them lighter and smaller for transport. The car rolls and steers just fine and easy for moving around and the tires hold air. Has a set of 14" Crager SS's on it. Anymore questions about the car or need more pictures of certain areas please feel free to message me or call and text me at 318-348-4626. The car is located in West Monroe, LA and the buyer is responsible for pickup or delivery. There is a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit required within 24 hours of the sale with the remaining balance due within 7 days of the end of auction. As stated I do have a clear Louisiana Title in my name for the car. The car and title will not be released until full payment has been received and cleared. I have the car for sale locally and other sites so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Happy Bidding and thank you for looking.
