1939 Mercury Other Convertible Description

1939 Mercury Convertible. This car was channeled long ago with the fenders raised up and the hood sectioned. In my opinion it did wonders to help the proportions! It has a Valley Custom or Jimmy Summers vibe to it! The channel was done really well for the time and the hood was sectioned very well and riveted together, like they didn't have a welder and intended to finish it later. The running boards were removed and the rear fenders were moved up and tacked on. the trunk was trimmed off the bottom. It is lowered in the back with removing the stock spacer and a couple of leaves.....The car has great patina and is amazing as is, but it could be finished into a truly great custom!
It was found in North Dakota a few years ago, I cant imagine how it ended up there, but it has to be a really cool story!
It has a nice running 59AB and runs and drives, the steering box could use a rebuild and a general going through of the suspension would be a good idea for it to be a full driver. it was rewired with a stock style harness and it has newer tires.
The car has very little rust. This is a very neat old custom.. Ive included a picture of the jimmy summers merc for inspiration! First Year for Mercury!
