Very solid and hard to find 1958 "Mercury Meteor" Ranch Wagon. That's right, this beautiful driver was built in Canada. This beauty has been in my collection for 12years and I have kept it inside 100% of the time. I had better intentions for it but have come to the conclusion I will never get around to them. This car is 100% complete, no pieces to search for, the best candidate for a restoration but its current state is very nice.
This 1958 Mercury Meteor Ranch Wagon is powered by a 390 FE and a C6 transmission that was installed by the previous owner. Engine runs and sounds very well and the c6 shifts great too. The mileage on either is unknown. the 390 Has and Edelbrock performer intake and ARP hardware holding it all together. A true dual with exhaust chambered mufflers and an H pipe give this 390 a nice sounding exhaust. Out back is what I believe is the stock 9” rear-end.
The entire brake system recently been serviced and everything is working as it should. The front brakes have a more modern disc brake and dual master cylinder to supply the system.
The body is in excellent condition being 98% rust free. I found one little spot of rust on a body mount on the passenger side towards the front(pictured). You can see the factory green coating on the under side of the original floor boards. The Paint is in great driver condition but does have nicks and chips in several spots. No bubbles of rust under paint anywhere. All the bright work is complete and in great shape. The front bumper is in good condition it does have some hazing and some small pieces of chrome flaked off, but both bumpers in good shape.
The interior I believe is all original and in good shape. Seats are solid and intact with some small cracking on the vinyl Original floor mat is through out the car. All the glass is FoMoCo glass and in very good condition. All electrical works on the car except for the factory temp gauge.
The car has a clean California title currently under Non-Op
