Here's a fun, first generation classic Comet for your consideration. Although styled more conservatively than the later generation Comets, the first generation cars are attractive and comfortable cars. Originally planned as an Edsel model (notice the angled tail lights and fins reminiscent of the Edsels), the Edsel program was ended in late 1959 so that never happened. The Comet was a compact car first marketed only as a Comet, rather than a Mercury Comet as the later models were known.
This particular Comet is a great budget classic perfect for cruising. This car has smooth exterior styling, a comfortable interior, and an Inline 6 under the hood. At some point, the car was re-painted in the original white with a blue metallic paint applied to the roof for a little exterior contrast. Trim and exterior panels are in very good condition. Our client sourced the car from Colorado, so if you examine our pictures, you will see that the car is solid. Inside the car is a very simple, economy interior finished in a few different shades of blue trim. The matching blue dashboard is very simple in layout, featuring a few simple knobs, an AM Radio, contrasting white steering wheel, and a gauge cluster with a sweeping needle speedometer. The driving position is comfortable and the ease of driving makes any trip in this classic car enjoyable. We can assure you that chances are pretty good that if you take this Comet to a car show or cruise you will be the only one with a first generation Comet.
