1966 MG MGB roadster Description

I have 40 years experience enjoying the rebuilding of MGBs as a hobby. I absolutely LOVE this 1966 time capsule all original MGB but.... another MG project has caught my eye and I dont have room for everything so this one is for sale.
During the past year this MGB with factory hardtop and disc wheels was brought out of 35 year storage, the original engine and carbs were rebuilt. Also replaced new with stock original parts are the clutch, new exhaust, new radiator, new front rear brakes, new battery, new generator, brand new original sized Firestone whitewall tires balanced on the factory disc wheels with new chrome dog dish hubcaps. The leather seats and interior are in very good condition. The white factory hardtop is also in excellent condition. A brand new matching soft top is still in the box. It runs and drives great with smooth idle, no hesitation and strong throughout rev range, 70 lbs oil pressure, no overheating and all the gauges, heater, wipers work as they should.
The items that need attention are; When the engine was out for rebuilding I knew that the original non syncro transmission 2nd gear syncro was weak but it drives good enough and I wanted to replace with an overdrive someday. The original tartan red paint resprayed 30 years ago is worn out and there is some slight evidence of bubbling over the rear wheel wells. The sill, rocker panels, floors are solid and the trunk area have no rust. The body itself is very straight but panels need small ding bodywork repairs and a paint job. With paint you would have a valuable unmolested series-1 MGB which are increasingly hard to find between either restored $25,000.00 cars, or basket cases.
This car is English drive, right hand drive. I have the neccesary parts to convert it over, which is a fairly simple one day job, but decided I prefer driving it this way. People really enjoy seeing it driving around from a lost era of proper English sports cars! Years ago I had an MG TC and this reminded me how fun it was! Parallel parking is easier without scraping wheels. Getting in an out on the curb side of streets rather than opening the door against traffic, busses, etc is a nice feeling and there is increased collision protection, god forbid, by sitting on the right side.
I do have a 1966 left drive steering rack, steel dash, wiper assembly that goes with it, if you feel the need to convert it at a future date. I might even be willing to convert it for a small fee before it is delivered if the BUY IT NOW selling price is reached. Thanks for the interest.
