Recently restored 1974 MG Midget. Stripped to bare metal, all older repairs cut out and new metal added. Also took the chance to de-chrome, means removed any signs of the front and rear bumpers, (I still have), removed side indicators, and removed chrome rear luggage rack, again I have all these, however, I believe the car looks much better. I have a new convertable hood, but have not fitted, again, looks cleaner and never my intention to drive this car in the rain. The 1275 engine, which is the best size and option for Midgets runs like a clock, helped by a new twin choke down draft webber, (I have the old carbs if you want them), but the car starts perfectly and runs perfect. All dials work, all lights work. Only items not working at present is the heater and windscreen washers. Has a new NC title, so no issues, I spent the last 6 months creating this car, and now I have a new project coming, so this has to go. I bought everything new for this car, new interior carpet set, interior panel set, 4 brand new Minilite wheels with brand new tires. Rebuilt the seats, many thousands spent. Turns heads every time out and is certainly one of the best looking Midgets you will ever see.
1974 is the best year for Midgets due to the round rear wheel arches and 1275 the best engine.
