This is a great 1979 MGB that I’m selling for my buddy of thirty years. I have a perfect eBay rating and I stand behind everything in this description.
My buddy bought the car for his wife’s birthday (I was there and whole heartily approved the purchase). Now 20 years later, the MGB fell victim to a BMW convertible birthday present and his wife is kindly requesting the MGB’s garage space.
I’ve driven the car on multiple occasions over the past 20 years. Age adjusted, it is a cream puff. The odometer is true at 71,337 miles.
We believe my buddy was the second owner in 1994 with approximately 61,000 miles. The original owner is purportedly a school teacher from New Jersey. The car has ALWAYS been garaged. I’ve included a picture of the garage and the garage’s future occupant (BMW convertible).
The car has been serviced by the local foreign car expert in the Hamptons. Always maintained to the highest standards. Paint is in outstanding shape. The interior and dash are solid. Engine runs like a top with no known engine or transmission problems.
In terms of what is wrong: (i) convertible top is a bit rough; (ii) small nick in paint passenger rear panel; and (iii) very small dent in passenger side chrome trim.
My buddy is sitting next to me as I list his beloved MGB. Even though it was a birthday present for his wife, it really was my buddy’s car. He is sad to see his MG of 20 plus years being sold. However, he knows the garage space must be freed up and the MG needs to find a new home.
This is a great car for the MGB enthusiast – two owners, garaged for the past 20 years, no rust, and solid mechanics. The perfect MGB for the enthusiast that wants to relive the days when MGs dominated the foreign sports car market.
