1953 MG TD bought in 1977 – had 57-some thousand miles before starting restoration – 0 miles since - Partially restored so far
Built on April 14, 1953 - Numbers match
Engine rebuilt in 1981 – took standard rings and bearings; cam, crank, pistons all excellent – needs new freeze plugs
Tach and Speedometer rebuilt
Trans rebuilt to replace second/reverse cluster gear
Top frame and side curtains (frames good, panels could be replaced, needs new top cover for the top frame)
Have copy of original shop manual used by MG mechanics
Two drivers/owner’s manuals (one is missing cover)
30 years of Sacred Octagon Magazines – lots of great tech tips in them
Set of Whitworth wrenches, other tools
Wood is excellent
Body parts excellent – all parts are there, one front fender has small 1/2" dent at the front lip – very reparable
Virtually all there but lots of it in boxes – may need new wiring harness and some other gauges for the instrument panel.
Have a TD tow bar (but recommend trailering if purchased as tires are extremely questionable
Have excellent illustrated parts and assembly pictures in several books and publications
