MG MGB Chrome Bumper - Rare Color - No Reserve Auction
1973 MG MGB Conv Description
Up for auction is a nice driver quality 1973 MGB. Very desirable chrome bumper model in the very rare Harvest Gold paint color. I got the car from a friend when I sold him my boat and don't have room for her so off she goes to the next owner. My ownership time is short soI will make every effort to detail everything about the car as I know it so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. This is you chance to get a nice looking / running and driving MGB way the heck below the current market value. The auction is starting at $1 so make no mistakes this car is selling this week to the highest bidder regardless of sale price. So if your bidding your bidding to buy the car. You don't see a true NO Reserve auction on a car of this vintage or condition very often so this is your chance.
Mechanical s:The car runs and drives . Car starts right up with no issues even after sitting for days. Strong brake and clutch peddle. Idles ok but I think she's running a bit rich. I'll try to have my mechanic look at that next week and have install a New chrome K&N air filter. Does have an exhaust leak so you should plan on replacing the rear muffler at some point ( runs around $140 at your local muffler shop ). Like new radial tires, recent clutch slave cylinder, slave cylinder hose and battery. Only driven her around the neighborhood but she seemed to do well. Tight steering.
Gauges:All gauges are correct "Smith" brand.
Electrical's :This area is in good condition with the following items in proper working order. Head lights work ( high and low beam ), front maker lights work, front indicator lights work, front side markers work, front running light work, rear running lights work, rear indicator lights work, rear side maker lights work, rear brake lights work, rear back up lights work, licenceplate lights works, blower fan works, stereo works, and the windshield wipers work. Note: replacing the ignition switch next week as it seems loose to me and don't want to risk it failing at some point and I'll have the horn looked at.
Exterior:Yep that's Harvest Gold your seeing. Very rare and highly sought after color. The car shows well in the photos and presents herself well in person but still just a driver quality car. Car sits evenly and squarely on the ground with no visible signs of leaning or sagging. Decent chrome bumpers. Again, like new tires all around.
Soft Top:Top is lets say fair. It will keep you dry but to do the car justice it should be replaced at some point. I can get and send with the car a new high quality Robbins soft top with the zip out rear window for $275. Has all the instructions and only takes a drill and rivet gun to install. Takes about 2 hours to do so. Have photos of the top so just email me if you want to see themInterior:Looks decent for a 45 year old driver. Yes the seat covers are on her as the seats need to be recovered. I can get new correct seat covers for $249 and ship them with the car if you want. Takes about 3 hours or less to install the new covers.
Trunk:The trunk is rock solid as seen in the photos.
Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/

I'm no mechanic or body guy so I'm selling her as is. If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding.
I'm not an expert and my opinion ofthe car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photosI have availableplease ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. One should expect a small scratches and imperfections in the paint. ( none of which really show up in the photos ). Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the carI'm selling her"as is" and mileageexempt.A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end via PayPal.
