Ground Up Restoration, MGB Mechanicals!

We have available a 1955 MGTF 1500. VIN number HDB46/9974 miles 00026. Finished in black exterior with tan interior and top and riding on chrome wire wheels, the car has to be one of the most elegant mid 50’s MG’s. Although it retains the looks and style of a classic MG, this is not a normal MGTF. Built at a cost of over $60,000 in the 90’s it has been a garage queen. It had been fully ground up restored with comprehensive chassis rebuild, great black paint, all chrome, and new interior and top. The mechanicals have been upgraded to a full MGB suspension, engine, transmission and differential. The drivability of the car has dramatically improved with added power from the 1800cc five main engine. The late, full synchromesh four speed improves ease of use, and when combined with the MGB differential a more relaxed cruising rpm is achieved. Stopping is excellent as the archaic front drum brakes have been converted to MGB disc brakes. Even the wooden floorboards were upgraded with thick aluminum to stiffen the chassis. Our shop has just refreshed the entire brake system. All gauges rebuilt at Nissonger. We completed a comprehensive service and adjustment of all systems. The paint and chrome are still shiny and excellent with just a few minor dings from long term inside storage. The interior is still like new. MGTF seats are curved and allow more interior room besides the extra support like buckets seats. They are stylish and comfortable. The overall style of the TF is cool with full octagon gauges and sleeker body style. This car will make a great addition to any collection and will be enjoyable to show and tour with since it has the power to keep up with modern traffic. All title and paperwork will be completed within 48 hours of receipt of cashiers check or bank wire transfer. Costs associated with express shipment of documents will be responsibility of the buyer.
