1962 MGA FOR SALE We are offering for purchase our 1962 MGA Mark II. Car has a 1976/5 bearing/1798 cc MGB engine. The engine was completely disassembled and rebuilt ground-up, including new camshaft. The mileage when we purchased the car was 67,677 with 350 miles on rebuilt engine and mechanical rebuild. Unknown if original miles. Mechanical improvements: Carburetors rebuilt Front damper and steering rebuilt (including bushings) Braking system rebuilt (including hand brake) Master cylinder rebuilt New gas tank Rebuilt starter Brake rear shoes and front pads replaced Rear axle seal and half shafts replaced Motor mounts replaced Turn signal switch and light installed Transmission rebuilt (including new clutch) Bearings and seals replaced Drive line U-joints replaced Differential seal replaced Brake light switch replaced Spark plugs and wires replaced (including distributor short lead/cap to coil) Distributor cap/rotor/points/and condenser replaced Vacuum line replaced Thermostat replaced (165 degrees) Water pump replaced Temperature-oil gauge replaced New radiator/hoses/fan shroud installed Rear brake shoes adjusted New original SU fuel pump installed Other improvements: New knock-offs New front grille New steering wheel Seat belts installed New carpet and floor mats New upholstery (including new seat padding) Seat slides installed (seats previously bolted to floorboards) New door panels and all interior panels Door weather stripping and end caps installed Door hardware for window fittings installed New tonneau cover New side curtains (need to be fitted) New convertible top and frame (need to be installed) New jack, tire changing tools, engine crank, and spare tire hold-down clamp All parts were purchased from Moss Motors. This vehicle has been serviced and repaired at an MGA/Jaguar repair facility and has had routine oil changes and chassis lubrication. Will provide list and timeline of repairs. Will provide detailed receipts for all the repairs and also have extensive file for previous repairs (provided to us by previous owner). The car needs some body repair and a paint job, but starts and runs good. Had custom tach built for MGB engine, but tach and speedometer have stopped working. Don’t know what problem is. Car is driven regularly. Vehicle is currently insured and registered with a clear title. The vehicle is being offered for purchase as we have two other classic cars and have run out of room.
