1959 MG MGA Twin Cam Description

This 1959 MG MGA Twin Cam is already a rare car that will turn heads. But when this classic also was given a careful restoration to showcase a beautiful color combo, great deign lines, and the special engine, then you know you've found a truly special classic roadster. There are a few bodystyles out there that make you say "Wow!" from the moment they come into view, and the MGA is in that very select class. The long... flowing front fenders that help create the low-cut doorline; the aggressive rear fenders that kick up for the wheels; and the smooth and unmistakably European trunk (boot) design - all of this combines to make for a car that looks sporty even when parked. You see all of this so well, because the Mineral Blue paint has a terrific luster that loves the sunshine. It was applied when this car was given a complete restoration in 2000 and treated with the best care ever since. That's why the chrome grille and the bumpers look amazing on this example. Plus, all the rest of the brightwork, such as around the windshield, mirrors, and luggage rack make the MGA look like it was trying to offer Americans the '50s style we love. In reality, it's just bowing to its T-series history. But unlike these earlier cars, when the weather does turn wet, the folding roof and side curtains are much more substantial to keep you dry for the drive home. A car like this is meant to be open to the world, that's why you have a wonderfully rich red interior. Against the deep blue exterior, the color combo gives this a dignified and very European first impression. These MGs are a great lesson in purist motoring, and the interior proves it. A grippy four-spoke steering wheel, clear Jaeger gauges, and a manual transmission - those are the true essentials you need. Your senses will go into overload as you sit in the low-cut black bucket seat and gaze at the classic dash panel. Pull the start knob and then let the wind whips through the interior while you help fill it with the wonderful soundtrack from the motor. Under the hood is what makes this true British aristocracy. The twin-cam motor was an engineering marvel of its time, and its advanced design also became its limiting factor. Only around 1,800 roadsters were ever produced with this motor, and this one is believed to be original to the car. This special powerplant is ready to show off thanks to a tidy presentation, and this is from when the engine was rebuilt around the time of the full restoration. The exhaust gives a hypnotic tone as you discover the fun and control that the four-speed manual gearbox provides. And you might have noticed the special Dunlop racing wheels, which are correct, because the special and more powerful twin-cam cars also received four-wheel disc brakes. The original dealer invoice comes with the sale to prove the pedigree. Beautiful, tasteful, and a superior experience behind the wheel to even its siblings, this MGA is an amazing classic for those who love pure driving rarity. Call today!!!
