1959 MGA = ANIMAL HOUSE FILM CAR?

1959 MG MGA Description

This car is said to have been used in the filming of Animal House in Eugene Oregon in 1975. I see it in a few scenes. The previous owner told me this was the car in the film. I drove this car to work a few times in 1989 and 1990, but it has been off the road in my garage since then. I am not going to do a restoration and need the space for other projects, so it is time to pass it to someone with the passion to make it good for the road again.

The seals don’t hold oil in the front suspension units. The right side body mount for the convertible top bows is damaged and will need a weld repair. The top is well oxidized and needs replacement. I used the tonneau cover when the car was outside the garage. The tires are very old and need to be replaced. The original battery holders are corroded, but I have installed a 12 Volt AGM battery that does a great job of cranking. The brakes and clutch will need a new master cylinder. The master cylinder is around a 100 bucks.

The data plate indicates the original color was Old English White, but there are also indications of a previous blue color. The car is titled in Oregon in my name. I can assist in loading the car to a transport service at my home in Vancouver WA.

The winning bidder shall pay aUS$500 security deposit within 3 days of auction closing. The remainder payment shall be made within 7 days of auction closing. Released title and other papers, books and loose parts will be sent by secure USPS with delivery confirmation by signed receipt. These documents will be sent upon final payment and collection of the vehicle by the buyer’s contracted carrier. Documents can also be delivered to the confirmed buyer in person if they are picking up the vehicle.

Finalizing your Purchase:

I will contact the successful high bidder by e-mail after the auction closes. Successful high bidder shall communicate with me bye-Mail within 24 hours of the auction ending to make arrangements to complete your transaction. If I cannot confirm your intention to buy or the sale is not completed within 7 days, I reserve the right to relist this vehicle or sell to any other qualified buyer.
