1969 MG MGB GT Hardtop Description

This is a Special Car. I've had it for 20 years, everything that broke I fixed or replaced. The motor was rebuilt 20 years ago. It needs work (Timeing chain noise and Oil Pump ? ) I haven't driven it much, since I purchased a 68 Porsche. In the last 5 years I use it only for Sports .. Windsurf an Bicycle. I often go camping at the Beach. The Leather Seats fold down flat and fits my 3 sails 2 booms and 2 masts. The Board straps on the perfect roof rack. When I remove the sails .. I have no problem sleeping there .. more than 6 feet. Perfect for me, all my toys and tools if needed. I have to sell my love because I lost my lease and have nowhere to store it ...
THE CAR: As I said before the engine needs work .. it started making ratteling noise, I think it's the timing chain .. the motor idles well and has good compression .. it also needs an oil pump. The pressure is very low at start but goes up to 30 lbs when driving. Otherwise .. It has a new head and valves, new cam .. But if I were to keep it I would rebuild the Engine .. unless I replace it with the spare I have .. complete lower end, no head. That engine is out of another MGBGT I rebuilt 20 years ago in another car. I had to scrap that one but took the engine, trans and a thousand other parts. I had the body work done and any rust repaired. It was painted 5 years ago and the paint is holding up well except some rust on the rear hatch. I changed a bunch of things to make it better. The 2 huge 6 volt batteries were removed (storage space for parts) and it was replaced by tiny 35 AH AGM battery, under the hood (works great, easy access) I also have jumper cables attached to the battery for easy access. The rear seat was removed (useless) and I built a storage compartment in its place. The clutch was replaced 2 months ago along with a new exhaust system .. new motor and transmission mounts. New brakes front and back. New Tires and 2 new 15 inch rims ($ 800) . When all my other cars stop .. the MG always goes. I just love throwing in a change of clothes, a wetsuit and sleeping bag and take off for the coast .. I also have a small camp stove and some coffee .. bottle of wine and a joint ... Perfection, Cruising ... She Loves BAHA .. One of the best things about this car is expense .. registration is around $ 80 .. 25 mpg .. parts are cheap and readily aviable. And Next Year She will go up in Value.. Keep her kept up and she will make you money .. I bought it 20 years ago for $ 1000 now the go for $ 15,000 ..
