1975 MG Midget Description

1975 MG Midget with 78,000 original miles. Runs good and drives nice. Very nice and solid car, nice interior, good glass and a like new convertible top. The car is a nice non molested MG, it appears to be all original. Nice original driver quality paint. Could probably use a good buffing. Doors hood and deck lid all shut nice. Tires have good tread however they are not new.
With all that being said, its not perfect. Its last owner had the car garaged for the last 26 years. It hasn't been driven for the last 12 or so years. It does run and drive, however its not ready for the road just yet.The fuel system is clean and the fuel tank is in great shape. You can remove the fuel fill hose and see into the tank. No rust. It will need some simple things such as the choke hooked up, the carburetor could use a little tuning, the wiring needsgone through ( not all the lights are working and it has an after market fuel pump that needs to bewired correctly. Small exhaust leak at one joint, The brakes have a new master cylinder and new rubber brake hoses but they could probably be bleed a little better.
As far as rust goes its a really solid car. The floor is in really solid shape with the paint still in place on most of the floor. There is a small rust hole under the drivers feet. I can only assume is was from a wet spot on the floor mat that didn't dry out because the rest of the floor is fine. There is a small area on the drivers side rocker that could you some attention.
If you are looking for a solid MG that just needs a couple weekends in the garage to get going, This is the perfect car for that. All the important stuff is in great condition. Motor runs good, transmission shifts nice, the rear end doesn't make any noise. No weird rattles in the suspension. Steering works as it should. Glass is good, windshield is nice, top is like new with clear windows.
