1933 MG T-Series 1933 MG J2 ROADSTER. 1 OF 300 SWEPT WING. 4-SPEED Description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very pretty and historic early MG pre-war Roadster. "Miss Victoria" is now 87 years old and presents very well in light and dark blue hues. It has been with the same passionate caretaker for the last 25 years. It is one of the last 300 produced out of roughly 2000 cars with the rare swept wing design, the earlier cars having the cycle fenders. The bodywork and paint on this car present very well. During the car's previous comprehensive restoration, the body tub was completely rebuilt with new ash framing and all steel paneling by an MG coachwork specialist in the UK. The restoration was completed by Bill Harkins of Pacific Classic Cars with further improvement/work by Barry Briskman of Scottsdale, Arizona.Chromework, rubber, windshield glass, body fittings are all in great shape. Weather equipment fits well and is in fine condition.Mechanically, the car is in fine fettle all around and boasts an upgraded engine with replaceable bearing shells, an improvement over the original white-metalling, line-boring type. The interior is very nice overall but could benefit from some new updated carpets and some seat re-dyeing, a simple task. The aluminum dashboard is beautiful, along with the Bleumels steering wheel, fold-down windscreen with racing screens, large knock-off painted wire wheels, and competition-style mesh grille.Overall, this pre-war J2 Swept Wing Roadster is a very rare offering here in the United States. This gem of an MG is presented in a delightful and charming color scheme, and will surely be an exciting addition to it's next caretaker's collection.
