Up for auction is my 1978 MG Midget with 32,955 Original Miles. This car was recently purchased out of Alabama and is in great shape. The car is a recipient of a recent repaint. The body is very straight, a few blemishes (chips, a couple small bubbles on lower rocker near midget emblem, couple scratches, etc…) all of which I have tried my best to capture in pictures.
The bottoms of the doors are rust free and they shut really nice. The top is newer and in great shape, the convertible top boot also fits well. This car is an excellent driver, some finicky issues need to be resolved. The exterior lighting is semi functional. The turn signals and brake light are not currently working and it’s something I have not looked into. Also the wipers are not functioning nor is the horn. The car runs and drives pretty nice. Shifts smooth, stays in gear and has good power (for what it is).
The carpeting may be original, the upholstery is in excellent shape. The dash has a small crack about 3” long which I have photographed. The tires are fairly new and in good shape. The trim rings are a little scuffed up. You can see the driver side weatherstrip is a little torn. The floor are in pretty good shape, some light surface rust underneath but nothing structurally concerning by any means, basically where undercoating has pealed away.
This is a excellent driver, something to enjoy and have fun with. Take it to a car cruise, maybe win a trophy! Take it out for ice cream, its a good economical classic with low original mileage.
