1991 Mini Classic Mini MK I Austin Cooper S Tribute Description

This is a very nice, rust free 1991 Rover Mini Cooper that has had an extensive Mk I conversion done. It is made to look like a Mk I Rally Austin Cooper S. This vehicle was imported from Japan, and is an original RHD car. it has This is a very quick mini, with the original 1275 bored over to a 1320. It is fitted with a Weber 40DCOE, headers, "S" 7.5 Slotted power brakes, and a 4 speed Rod Change gearbox. It is fitted with a switch controlled auxillary electric fan, so it stays cool. It cruises on the freeway, and scoots around town. It does have a clean, Arizona title- and it only has 42k kilometers (26k miles) on it.
The very well done exterior conversion includes a swing down license plate with the proper Mk I lights, front mustache trim and whiskers, correct badging, twin white bonnet stripes, and a period "Monte Carlo" style roof rack. Also fitted are a faux secondary fuel tank with a matching "Monza" cap, and a quick release grille, which makes servicing a breeze. All this sits on Bridgestone SF-248 145SR10 tyres with 10" Baby Moon steel wheels. Also fitted are the popular JDM wing mirrors and chrome edge stripping on the sills and arch lines.
The interior is styled after a Mk 1, including the magnolia smiths centre clocks, and parcel shelf. It has an aftermarket radio with sound system and 12v auxiliary power point for your phone charger or GPS hidden under the dash. Seats have just been reupholstered in cream and are fitted with seat extenders. Covered in red velvet colored carpet. The rear seat seats 2 comfortably. We have had 6 people in this car, and it handles it just fine. Also fitted are opening Quarter glass, which make it nice and cool in the summer.
This car has been very well maintained, has just been serviced, and has had many new parts fitted including: New steering rack (a very expensive repair), new spark plugs, rebuilt carburetor, new radiator, new radiator cap, new thermostat, new fuel sender, new turn signal and wiper switches, a new wiper motor with rebuilt wiper rail, and a full oil service. Also if you need any future maintenance and or upgrades, I do mechanical work as well- however you probably won't need me for awhile, as this is one of the most mechanically sound minis I've had the pleasure of working with.
This is an exceptional car for the price, very fun and easy to drive (I actually have taught about 4 people to drive stick on this), a head turner, and is a very reliable driver. I have daily driven it on 40 mile a day freeway drives for a few months now. I am NOT interested in trades. If you have any questions or would like to see my other classic minis for sale, feel free to call, text or email me. Also, if located in AZ, I am usually at the Scottsdale Pavilions car show every Saturday if you would like to see this one, or any other of mine & my collector partner's private collection.
