You are bidding on a reallynice 1987Mitsubishi Montero. This is a true survivor especially for an East Coast vehicle. The undercarriage is in like new condition which is unheard of around here. The only spots of rust are one tiny spot on the windshield (see pic) and one under the rear tailgate (see pic). The rest is all original (including the paint)and ingood shape for a 29 year old vehicle. The paint has some faded/thin spots where you can see the primer showing, ut it's all original.
I bought the vehicle a few months back with a bad motor and was planning on putting a 22RE Toyota motor and drivetrain from a Toyota pickup I had at my dad's shop. Time just isn't on my side now and I am selling some of myprojects to get a runningtoy I can work on while I drive it. The motor is ready to come out. All the parts were carefully removed and labeled and are included in the sale. You will have to source a good block and swap over the parts. I believe the top end is shot, ut it did have a lower end knock which could have been a rod. I would say be prepared to find a complete motor, ut you may get lucky and just have to do top end work.
The interior is really nice considering the age. The clam shell surrounding the sterring column is busted which I'm told is a very common problem with these vehicles. The rear seat is not in the vehicle.
I am listing this with NO RESERVE!! This is a great opportunity to score a true gem. With a new motor and a weekend of work this could be on the road again. I drove it on/off the trailer and verified the tranny along with the 4x4 and all the accessories worked as they should. All the components are now removed making the rest of the motor removal a breeze. Just remove one upper bell housing bolt and the two motor mounts and it's ready to come out.

I cannot find the title for the vehicle. I am trying to contact the original owner, ut for whatever reason he is not returning my calls/texts. I will continue to try and will gladly give you a bill of sale along with his contact info if you win the auction. Maybe you will have better luck.
Again, his is being sold without a title. I cannot change the buy-it-now but I am willing to let it go for $750 now.
