1955 Nash Ambassador Custom 4dr Description

This is a 55 Ambassador Custom with 62500 original miles and I am still driving it. This car has been gone right through. With a custom you get the extra chrome on the sides and on the dash, this option also comes with the continental kit. The car also has a rebuilt Lemans duel jet fire engine (with under 1000 miles since the rebuild) which gives the engine duel Carter side draft carbs. The 4 speed GM Hydramatic trans came with this model and has been rebuilt same time as the engine. I have a photo album with 200 pictures from start to finish that will go with the car. I have kept as much of the original parts in this car as possible like, the interior cloth seats are the original that the car came from the factory (Very rare for this year car). I had the apolstry cleaned and dyed the white and green vinyl on the seats and door pads. The head liner was replaced with cloth same as what was there. All the bright work has been straightened and polished. the front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed. All the brakes have been replaced and even the springs have been painted, all new lines and master cylinder and e-brake cables. The front end has been worked with new and rebuilt parts. New hand bent exhaust from front to back. The paint is fresh and very eye catching, and it is the original colors.Carpet was used but you cannot get the rubber mat any more. There is also a NEW windshield that the wipers have never been dragged across. there is 6 new tires, And as you can see in the pics they have wide white walls. The car has won many local car shows receiving best show more than once as well as first place, all trophies go with the car. The heater motor has been replaced as well as the heater box and the heater core has been tested and flushed, but I have never used the heater, This car has no power steering or power brakes. A couple of really interesting features are the select starting, to start the car you insert the key and turn it on, select neutral and pull the shift lever towards you and the car starts. It has tinted see through sun visors and one has a crack but they are in decent condition over all. When the directional light is applied the end of the switch lights up not on the dash. The fuel filler is behind the tail lamp chrome. The interior folds down into a full size bed and I also have a Nash twin mattress that goes with the car. I also know the history of the car and what saved it from rotting into the ground was it sat in a covered pen for 40 years. I also have all receipts. If you are looking for a head turning car and you would like to do well at car shows, this may be your car. Buyer pays for shipping cost and finds their own transporter. I am not responsible for any damage the car may receive in transit. I will ONLY use Pay Pal for payment and the car will not be released until the funds are in my account in full and USD will only be accepted. I will sell outside of the United States. Any questions please contact me, but please serious inquires only I don't have time to be answering tons of questions if someone is not looking to buy the car. Thank you for looking. If you want to have the car inspected before purchasing that is encouraged and welcomed but they must come to me. I am not available from sunset Fridays to Sunset Saturdays so if you ask a question in that time period please expect an answer after Sunset Saturday. I will answer all questions as fast as possible but I still work and can't answer questions until after I come home. Sale is final.
