1986 Nissan 300ZX Base 2dr Hatchback Description

*** Please this is a NO RESERVE auction the highest bidder will win this, please have your funds ready, thank you and good luck bidding, there will be a NY state dealer for paperwork for $75.00 to the winning bidder*** This 1986 Nissan 300ZX is a COLLECTOR QUALITY naturally aspirated 67k mile example equipped with a five-speed transmission and T-tops. Reportedly a two-owner car, this Z31 was purchased new in East Vestal, NY for just under $22k and is described as essentially stock. The vehicle was used in the summer months only, never driven in ay sort of inclement weather or poor road conditions. Since it was highly maintained the drivability of the car is excellent, there is no smoke on startup, no hesitation at all and an absolute joy to drive. oil pressure was checked and at idle is 25 psi and tops to over 70 psi or more when driving. Compression test was also performed on all 6 cylinders, all about 160 psi, the original spec was 165psi new. thus indicating the engine is fine and balanced. exhaust tips, and air filter. Recent work includes new tie rods, an oil change, new spark plugs along, fresh battery, and aftermarket air filter. The sale includes a clean Carfax report and clear New York State title. The car was repainted once with two-stage base/clear coat and is said to have been garage-stored since all plastic cladding were removed for a total paint job cost of over 5 k, the paint is brilliant,The finish appears to be of excellent, presenting well over smooth panels and metering to a consistent 8 mils according to the seller. Flaws appear limited to a handful of small chips, along with the occasional road mark and tape lines on the windshield seal. Gaps are even throughout, and no signs of filler or accident repair are present according to the seller. Jambs, fender channels, and fuel filler area are all clean, without over spray with exterior corrosion appearing limited to discoloration on latch hardware. Stock turbine alloys are serviceable with spots of scuffing. Tires were mounted in 2012 and have plenty of tread remaining. The turbines were available as 1986 models only, and the non-turbo cars feature side skirts and flared fenders. Color-matched plastic cladding looks free of distortion, including an unbroken air dam and spoiler. Half-hidden headlamps sit flush, while plastic lenses appear bright and unbroken across the rear end. Weatherstripping and tinted glass look good, and the T-tops remain well sealed without leaking in the rain. Metal trim is straight throughout and aftermarket chrome exhaust tips have been added. The gray leather interior is said to be original, with bolstered buckets showing taut upholstery and wear limited to wrinkling and occasional marking. Carpeting is protected by factory mats and exhibits little fading or discoloration in photos. The stock wheel and other control surfaces bear few signs of use, and wear is similarly light on switchgear and aluminum panels except for crazing around the shift lever. The faux-stitched dash appears free of cracks, housing optional digital instrumentation that remains clear and bright with no visible dead areas. Most accessory items are said to function properly including the voice warning system, chimes, factory stereo, and equalizer. The power antenna fails to fully retract. The air conditioning system has been recharged and is reportedly working well. The 3.0-liter V6 runs well with no outstanding mechanical issues according to the seller. The SOHC VG30 has received recent service including an oil change, new spark plugs, fresh battery, and open-element air filter. The engine bay appears brilliantly detailed, the cadmium plating is still present in many areas as well as the silver zinc dichromate, this indicated car was not exposed to the salt element or mist spray and presents well with intact hood insulation. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual that received a recent fluid change. The chassis received dealer-applied rustproofing and is solid underneath according to the seller, who has been unable to find evidence of major leaks or damage. Tracking is straight thanks to a 2014 replacement of the tie rods, rear shocks, and subsequent front wheel alignment. Brakes have recently been flushed and are said to exhibit no pulsation from their rotors. Undercarriage is brilliant. We have inspected the car and we just found a power steering leak, very minor we have added a sealer to it and will leave the leak as is with out repairing the part, the safety of the car will not be compromised.
