1969 Nissan Patrol model KL60 survivor. Truck has the original inline 6-cylinder P engine with 3 speed. 4WD works fine and has low gears. The beauty is in the simplicity; this is truck is easy to work on and nothing is hard to get to.
Good
This Patrol still has its original drivetrain with a straight six 3956 cc engine (145 hp @ 3800 rpm) and three speed floor shift transmission. The factory carb is a Rochester MonoJet that is easy to service and obtain parts for if needed (I haven’t needed any). It comes with the stock oil bath air cleaner. Engine runs strong and does not smoke even after sitting for a while. The points were pulled and a Pertronix electronic ignition module is installed under the waterproof distributor cap so the points will never need to be adjusted again. It fires right up with its mechanical choke activated, even after prolonged periods without being driven and in the coldest weather. The tires are Goodyear, 31x10.5x15” and have plenty of tread including the spare. At 60 miles/hour the truck runs straight with no vibrations and does not pull to one side. It has no front-end issues. All of the seats are in good shape and I had them recently reupholstered. In the rear it has center facing troop seats that fold up. The bed is solid with no major rust. It has a new muffler and tail pipe. The manual hubs work as they should. I have never driven it off-road but it is great in the snow. Put it in 4WD and it just digs in and goes. The Warn 6000# winch (with remote control) works as it should. I found the wench comes in handy on snowy days to pull Jeeps out of the ditch.
Truck comes with various spare parts including the original oil bath air cleaner and an original starter. Also included are owner’s manuals, parts manuals, service manuals and a lot of receipts and documents from years past. The parts manuals are nice because they have exploded views of almost everything.
Bad
Odometer does not work; it is stuck on 23000 miles. It will need a clutch eventually. It’s not slipping but it has recently developed some bearing noises. The steering wheel horn does not work but it does have an under dash horn button that does work. The parking brake is the doughnut style that grabs the drive shaft at the transmission yoke. It will hold the truck on a slight incline but I would not lay down in front of it. The truck lived most of its life in Southern California and Arizona so most of the weather stripping has been dry rotted off.
If after seeing the pictures and the videos, if you have any questions or would like a closer look at something or pictures of a particular part of the truck, feel free to contact me. The truck is located in Lynchburg, VA. If you are near central Virginia, contact me to come and see it in person. The truck is sold ‘as is and where is’ with no warranty expressed or implied.
