Go Airforce (read on...you'll understand why)! The Car is located at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs Co
This has been a labor of Love and a really sweet Z32 build.
It was my sons high school car and being a classic car restorer (myself), we rebuilt the interior, maintained the engine, and generally had a great time with the car. It was a very clean 2+2 version.
Ever since my son was 8 years old, he wanted to fly. So I made a deal with him that if he every got accepted into the Air Force Academy I’d get him a nice car. Well he got accepted but wanted his old car to be redone into something different and amazing...
,,,so I sent it away and spent $25,342.66 to have it professionally done by Z Fever in Florida. ..heres what happened…and yes I have the paperwork. You can also call Doug Mitchell there to confirm the work.
….the old tired NA 6 cylinder was swapped withJDM VG30DETT that was fully re-sealed and complete timing belt service done to the engine. The injectors were upgraded to a set of 550s w/ a pair of Garrett GT2560R turbochargers. With boost set at 18 psi she makes roughly 420whp.It was then re-painted including the engine bay and complimented with a wrinkle black powder coated upper plenum and candy-apple red powder coated valve covers and piping for the engine accents.
Once the TT swap was finished a complete repainting of the vehicle was done, changing the color from white to Corvette charcoal grey and adding some Corvette Grand Sport style racing stripes over the front fenders and changing out the very unattractive wheels for some 18" Work Equip reps and brand new shoes.
Interior issues were fixed like the ripped leather seats, the jacked up carpets, and then added some nice new carpet mats.
Itemized list:
Driven for one year after swap putting on about 8000 miles, odometer currently reads108502.
What my son found out is that high performance cars need tending with tools and a space to do the work. None of which he has (as a cadet at the Air Force Academy). This is a great high performance car with only a few chips mainly on the air dam from the year of lovely Colorado roads. It has developed a leak in the fuel line system on the right side below the hydraulic brake reservoir but is an easy fix IF you have the tools and space to do it. Also the upper T-Top trim needs touch up (very easy to do).
So with sadness it is being sold because he cant store the car nor does he have the time, tools or funds to take care of such a phenomenal vehicle.
So its going for half of what has been invested in it….looking for an owner that has a love for these gems that can take good care of it.
I advise an inspection, Honestly - just get it done for your piece of mind.
Interested parties can view the Car at the United States Air Force Academy (zip80840)coordinating with my son. Hes a straightshooter and is happy to meet anyone interested. Help this young man out.
