Now on to the bad, of which I will disclose all; I bought this car as a moderate project, but it needs more work then I am willing to put into it. When I bought it, it was leaking oil, and I knew that. I hoped it would be one seal, but its several hoses.Coolant hoses were used so they have all swollen and started leaking over time. They all need to be replaced. I also see drips of coolant from time to time.
The front cross member should also be replaced.
The paint is perfect on the car body itself, in fact the performance shop I brought it to said the job was pretty impressive, but there are several blemishes on the side skirts, T-Tops, and rear bumper. I was power washing it one day and the rear bumper chipped quite a bit. The color isa 4-stage custom color based off of the Lexus Starfire Pearl – so you can either just touch it up with that or take a crack and replicating the color entirely.
The tune is veryweather dependent. Sometimes it flatlines around 6500 rpm under WOT and sometimes it happily revs to the 7050 its programmed for, totally depends on the pressure that day. It’s an Apexi PowerFC ECU with the harness modified for the VG. You can run it as is, but I would do some serious logging and adjustment of the tune to make it work better in a wider array of conditions.
I DO NOT HAVE the keys for the doors, and just for fun, it likes to completely randomly lock the doors about once a month. So I either disconnect the battery or leave a window open when leaving it for a long time.
Needs a fan shroud.
With all that said – it runs, drives, and will absolutely set your hair on fire the second it touches 4k rpms and hits boost. It just needs some love. The guy that built it loved it, but moved onto other projects. It needs somebody tolove it again, and that’s not going to be me.If you are a z32 guy or just into JDM in general, this car can be absolutely amazing with some work.
