I recently picked this 442 OLDSup from an estate in Florida. It needs restoration. But itis a REAL 1970 Olds442. 344 VIN. Was told its was always a Florida car. the first pictures are of the 442washed and in my garage. The dirty/dusty pictures of the caron the jack stands is howthe car looked when I bought it.
The car registration is current and in my name and current Florida Antique plates on the 1970, 442. Complete car and appears all the original parts and pieces are included.
It was parked about 10-12 years ago. The widow said her husband was working on it about ten years ago. She said he was working on the carb and he dropped a screw down the carb. So he decided to start stripping the car down and restore it. So he put the car up on jack stands and took some of the front end off and thenendedup never really finding time to continue, so it sat on the stands for the next 10+ years. He recently passed away so she decided to sellit. I took pictures ofhow it looked when Isaw it. Very dirty from sitting under the overhang. Butit appears with a tune up, brakes, drain gas tank and a battery it would run and drive. I also think youcould put some newcarpet in it and drive and restore as you go. I have not triedtp start the car.
The belly of the car looks really good. There is rust around the car but easy fixes as it appears the442 has originalpaint and doesn't appear to ever had any body work done except for the trunk lid where its brown. The carappears to have never beenrepainted. Body and interior is survivor condition and needs restored. Both front fenders have rust issues at the bottom of the fenders. Rust around rear fender wells and cowl by hood has rust.Rust in the usual places but the frame and pans are pretty nice. Theentire dash appears original and looks good.
The engine she thought was a 400, but I have no idea what it is. Has factory air condition.I was going to take it to a shop and drop the gas tank and get it running but decidedI will let whoever buy the car just do it the way the want. I have no doubt the family was very honest and believe it ran when parked.
The interior is pretty much all original and was filthy. I removed all the seats and carpet so I could take photos to show original floor pans and the belly of the car. A couple small pinholes but very minimal by passengers feet.
Again it is a real 442 andit needs restored or get it running and drive as it.So please ask any questions you have and I will do my best to take more pictures and try and answer your questions.
The OLDS 442 is being sold as/is with no warranty implied or expressed.
