1970 Oldsmobile 442 Description

Here is a 1970 Olds 442 for sale. It has it's original, numbers matching 455 and TH400 transmission and 3.08 open differential. It's what would have been a bread-and-butter type, grocery-getter car. The color is bamboo with its original gold vinyl roof. I have had this car for six years and have enjoyed it very much but its time to let her go. Someone before me has done a lot of work on this car. There are receipts and pictures of all the work including rebuilding the whole front end from the firewall forward. There are about 1,500 miles on the rebuilt numbers-matching engine and it doesn't burn any oil. There is new exhaust from the mufflers to the back. Let me tell you, this car has a lot of power. I can't count the times I'm sitting at a light, and when the light turns green I accidentally squeal the tire a little when I push on the gas (oops!). There is still work to be done. There are some rust bubbling around the sides of the roof, where the drip rails are, the rest of the roof is solid. Also, the front floor pans need to be replaced. There is some rust where the vinyl roof meets the paint on the C pillars as well as the lower quarter panels. I went ahead and replaced the front seat cover and the carpet. The back seat, side panels, package tray and headliner will need replacing. The dash is in great shape! and the radio works! I have the protect-o-plate and window sticker and old photos, receipts, etc...The passenger side window needs adjusting at the regulator. The gaps on some of the doors and fenders are not perfect. The car drives perfect! It has front disc brakes, the frame is very nice, the glass is all good.....This is a great car for the price! Paul Watters 405-808-4567
