1957 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight 2 Door Hardtop BARN FIND!!!
1957 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Description
Here is the chance of a lifetime! A true barn find that is still 100% original! A very rare and desirable 1957 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight 2 door hardtop. Selling for the widow of the owner. Clear Colorado title. The owner purchased this car in 1989 when it had 68,000 documented actual miles and drove it very sparingly into the 1990's when it was parked. It now has 72,641 actual miles. Original paint, original interior. Original 371 4-V engine with the original oil bath air cleaner and Rochester carburetor. Options are power windows, power seat. power steering, and power brakes. Looks like the original battery even! You NEVER find cars like this anymore!! It has not moved or been started since around 1998. I did NOT try and turn the engine over so as not to hurt it. I would do the usual Marvel Mystery oil down the spark plug holes for a few days to loosen it up before Iwould tryto turn it. Keys work in all locks and ignition. The trim is all there. All the chrome is nice and not pitted. All of the glass except the drivers window (cracked) is good including the very rare rear quarter opera windows. There is ZERO rust on the body of this car. Frame looks very nice. Trunk is excellent too. There is a very small scrape on the right rear of the car shown up close in the 18th picture. There is heavy scale rust I can see on the floor boards in the front, so it might need pans. I have an extra set of door panels that have the window switches in them and an extra power seat bottom frame with the electric switches and motor that go with it for spare parts. I will help you with the shipping process that YOU arrange from zip code 80403 Arvada, Colorado (Denver). You may call or email to have an agent inspect this car for you at your cost. This car will high retail over $66,000 when restored. If it were an original J-2 tri power car, it would be over $80,000. Don't miss this one.....you might never see another one like this! The last 4 pictures are of the available extra cost J-2 tri power setup and it is NOT INCLUDED in this auction. See below.
NOTE: I also have a correct complete J-2 1957 Oldsmobile TRI POWER setup (complete with air cleaner, carbs, carb tags, linkages, fuel lines, vacuum line, and thermostat housing) available to the new owner of this car for an extra amount (around $3000). This is shown in the last 4 photos above. If the new owner passes on this setup, it will be auctioned off next week.
