1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser Wagon. This a one owner original/survivor car. One owner from new to 142,000 miles, solda few years ago. Every drop of gas and every repair ever done is documented in the owner’s ledger book and binder which come with the car. Never saw paperwork like this. Purchase order, window sticker, protecto-plate, letters of thanks from dealership, original title, etc.and then there’s a small book he kept in the glove box which documents every time he put gas in the car, how much gas and mileage on car, also includes all repairs and maintenance done to the car from 4 miles to 142,000 miles. Every trip he took is in there, roads he traveled, mileage on each road etc. Crazy and cool at the same time. People don’t do that stuff anymore. Some pics are included. The binder has so much more in it than I could possibly list. It's a blast to read through.
This car is completely original from the motor to the paint. There's nevereven been a touch up on it and it really doesn't even have a ding. This car was taken care of from day 1. It has the 350 Rocket with a freshly rebuilt TH400. The front end has been fully re-built including the ball joints, everything on this car works including all of the courtesy lights, gauges, exterior lights etc., even the seatbelt buzzer works and goes off crazy load if you don’t put your belt on. The A/C works but needs a charge. It is still set up for the old original R12, I know someone local who does charge the old systems without converting them over. Now this is a 3 row seating wagon. All of the seats fold flat from the rear door to the front seat. Rear door opens out and/or drops flat. Rear power window works perfectly from the front and with key. This car is loaded with options, I am attaching a pic of the window sticker so you can view all of the options. There’s even a switch inside which disables the outside hood latch for security purposes, never saw that before. And, if you’ve read this far, you know that these wagons have the desirable tintedglass sunroof sections and the optional rear seat sun visors. All of the glass is tinted. I could go on and on about this car, it’s a time capsule. Optional dealer installed chrome roof rack too. The car does have a electronic distributer which was recently installed to get away from the points.
This car runs and drives perfectly. I would take it anywhere with no worries at all. Now there is a few very minor rust spots. The bottom corners of both front fenders have holes, there is some crust around the driver’s side wheel well lip, but not through, and there is one small spot of rust on the lower right side of the tailgate. That’s it. The underside, spare tire well, storage under rear etc. are all absolutely rust free. The car was undercoated at the dealership. The paint is faded as would be expected, and there are only a few minor scratches to boot and it is all original. The wood grain decal is all intact but also faded. The front seat had some rips, so I put the tape on for comfort when driving. The head liner could use replacing if you wanted. Bottom line this is a get in and drive all original Vista Cruiser. Grab the family and go. All of these imperfections can be seen in the video and/or pics.
