1972 Oldsmobile Other -- Description

Actual Indy 500 Festival car. It still has the original speedway festival sticker on the windshield! Only 2 owners. The car was stored on blocks from 1979 to 1999. In 1999 we brokered this car from the 1st to the 2nd owner. The 2nd owner was a collector that already had a Hurst hardtop. We just bought the pair from him. This convertible is documented with original purchase order build sheet protect-o-plate manuals literature copy of original title endorsed to 2nd owner and of course the cowl tag has the W45 code. They only made 130 of these total. This is the only one I've ever seen with the original festival sticker. It's an original preserved car that has had 1 repaint 18 years ago. The paint has a wet sanded smooth glossy finish. Jambs are shiney. At time of restoration window seals weatherstrips door handles and emblems were replaced. Bumpers were rechromed. The odometer shows 62000 miles on this car. The interior appears to be a very well preserved all original including the carpets and upholstery. The dash area is very nice door panels are excellent. The lower driver seat does have some cracking in the seams. The white convertible top still looks like new. The windshield that displays the Indy 500 Festival sticker does have a crack but we strongly suggest leaving it alone because you don't want to lose that sticker. In the trunk is a matching spare wheel with one of the original Polysteel tires for a spare also includes the jack and a soft car cover. Motor compartment is original it has been cleaned and painted. It has the numbers match 455 motor and original ram air induction system. Also included is a 1 inch stack of original internal correspondence regarding Hurst Olds being used at Indy very interesting stuff. This is a rare piece of history!
