1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible Description

My 1968 Cutlass Convertible is in amazing condition. It still has its original numbers matching 350 4bbl engine and automatic transmission. Both function as new; no strange noises, no smoke, incredible power. The exhaust is new and has a true muscle car sound, but not too loud. Tires are new on 5 original Olds superstock wheels. I believe I am the 3rd owner; it was always garaged, never abused and maintained beautifully. The top is brand new with glass rear window—fits better than from the factory and has never been used. It operates as new. The body is laser straight, all original rust-free body panels; shut lines are perfect, doors, trunk and hood line up as new and open and close effortlessly. All chrome and stainless trim is perfect, as is the original tinted glass. This car is so rust-free I believe the bumpers are original, as is all of the corrosion-free trim. Having lived its entire life (until I brought it to the northeast 4 years ago) in the dry western states accounts for its original rust-free condition. The trunk is as clean as it was in 1968—see the pictures of the trunk floor and inner quarter panels: no repairs, no re-painting. The underside was never undercoated. It has no corrosion, only surface rust, as should be expected, and is extremely solid. The rare oyster-white vinyl bucket seat/console interior is as new: no cracks or tears, soft and pliable. I strongly believe it is also the original. Dash is also flawless: no cracks, not dried out. The engine compartment has not been detailed to make it look good for sale purposes. It looks all original and incredibly clean.

Shortly before I purchased it, the long-term previous owner had it re-sprayed its original color. The only modification was that he had the Cutlass emblems removed from the front fenders. He was tempted to put on 442 emblems, but he never did install them, and neither did I. They will come with the car—your choice. He also gave me a brand new 442 grille and a new 442 body stripe kit. These 68’s can be cloned to 442’s with very little effort (especially easy for this one, having the bucket seat/console interior) adding many thousands of dollars to the value.

Overall, this beautiful muscle car starts, runs and drives as it did 50 years ago—it’s hard to believe its age, and that it is still in this condition. This beautiful 60’s muscle car is truly turn-key. It needs absolutely nothing but to be enjoyed by the next owner. I never intended to sell this amazing Cutlass, but a stroke last fall has ended my ability to drive my classics. If you follow these great muscle cars on eBay, you are aware that I sold two of my collection last month; I still have a few to be sold over the next few months.
