I have a rescued and rebuilt 1963 Oldsmobile F85 Cutlass. The all aluminum 215 V8 is really cool and people take a double take when they see it.
I bought this car as a project that the previous owner had lost interest in and decided to save it, build it, and put it back on the road. This is a very uncommon car. I go to many large car shows, including the Nashville Goodguys show earlier this month. I didn't see a single early Cutlass there. The car is super solid and had no significant rust whatsoever. A quick look under the car, of the floor, rockers, and trunk certainly backs this statement up. The car was stripped to it's shell, and repainted with Glasurit in Base Coat/Clear Coat. The car is the original color of "Holiday Red." All the interior is new as well, and all interior surfaces were painted with Glasurit BC and Satin Clear Coat. All interior trim was stripped and painted with black BC/Satin CC. All the glass is good, and the windshield is new. All weatherstrip and rubber goods are new. The motor is completely rebuilt and has been upgraded to the 210HP Buick variant. This is a wonderful upgrade, but not as wonderful as the upgraded transmission. The problematic Roto 5 transmission has been upgraded as well to the Buick Dynaflow Dual Path transmission, which is a simple, dependable, and well performing transmission. The transmission has been freshly rebuilt as well. This car only weighs about 3000 pounds, and is very peppy with this engine and transmission combo. The wheels have been upgraded to 15x7 steel wheels with new BFG Radial T/A's The entire brakes system is also new. Because the stereo and dash are in such good shape, i didn't want to go messing it up, so I've installed a hidden blue tooth amp and speakers that allow you to play music in the car through your phone or other device. The car has a new custom ordered radiator, and new custom heater core to original specs. Also, two electric pusher fans hidden in front of the radiator.
I finished up this car about 3 months ago and have only put about 50 miles on it to work out post build bugs. It needs to be driven more though. I'm very involved in another project right now, and need to sell this to recoup some funds to put in the new project. I hadn't planned to sell this one quite so soon, but the funds are running low. It really is a great car. If you know cars then you know how much money it takes to bring one back to life. You couldn't buy and build this car for this price unless you do like I do, and do all the work yourself. If you have a feedback score of zero, you must contact me prior to bidding. If you do not contact me first, I will cancel the bid.
