1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cutlass Description
.
1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass
Two Door Post Coupe{For restoration/donor car/parts car}
Here is a 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass that will serve well as a donor car or perhaps for parts only (might even be suitable for a complete restoration). Please read this entire description as we will try to accurately present this car with no intentional misrepresentations. Here is the information on the car:
Origin Of The Vehicle: I live in the northwest corner of the state of Alabama and this car was purchased from the previous owner who lives about 200 miles south of me (near the Georgia state line). I do not know the history of the car as to its origin, prior ownership or location where it was sold new.
Option List: This car was equipped with an excellent list of very desirable options. When Oldsmobile built this sports car all of the appropriate "goodies" were added like automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Condition: It is not our intention to present this car as a running, driving car that is a daily driver or a car that would require only minor cosmetic restoration. The car has been in storage a long time and no attempt has been made to even start the engine or drive the car.
Overall the body is in fair condition. Most of the body panels have rust (typical areas like the lower quarter panels, windshield track, core support, floor pans, trunk pans, etc.). The frame appears to be solid and the fenders have minimal rust in the lower sections. Aftermarket reproduction panels are available if the new owner chooses to restore this car. Amazingly, the doors are tight and open & shut well forming good body lines.
The photos show what is included with this sale. The glass appears to be original and in good condition with the exception of the windshield.
As you can tell from the photos the car will need a complete interior package. The seat covers, headliner, carpet, door panels, etc. will all need to be replaced. The interior of the car includes the two rear seat sections, door panels, arm rests, etc. The bucket seats in the car are not for the 1964 model.
Drive Train Components: The engine in this car is the 330 V-8 engine which is correct for the 1964 model cars (394417 casting number). This engine has the very desirable four barrel carburetor.
The transmission is an automatic (not sure if it was the original one with this car or if it was replaced with the later model engine).
Mileage: The eBay listing requires some information be provided as to the mileage showing on the odometer. The odometer reading on the car is 63657 which we are not able to determine if it is actual mileage or not.
Warranty: There is NO warranty implied or stated with this car. It is being sold "As is/Where Is" only. We have made every attempt to accurately describe the vehicle and welcome any prospective buyer to personally inspect the vehicle prior to the sale. We have no way to warrant the engine, body condition, damage, etc. other than to provide great details in this listing.
Transfer Of Ownership: According to our county License Commissioner the state of Alabama was not a title state prior to 1975 and no vehicle manufactured prior to that year had official state titles. This vehicle does not have a title and will be sold to the purchaser with a notarized General Bill Of Sale only. No title for this car has ever existed and none can be produced per the governing laws of this state.
Shipping Services: This vehicle is being offered as a local pick up only. Any shipping services used for the delivery of the vehicle must be arranged at the buyer's discretion and expense.
Questions & Bidding: We welcome the opportunity to share additional information with you regarding this car. It is an good opportunity to preserve a part of history. Health and age dictate that this collection of cars and parts must be liquidated.
Value Items: In addition to the rarity of a 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass this sale includes some nice parts for the person who is buying it as a donor or parts car (power steering system, power brake system, body trim, etc.). So whether you need a donor car or want to restore a classic car this example would be a great place to begin.
