1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sedan
The word Cutlass is defined as a short curvy one-edged sword that was used by sailors. The Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was the bestselling car in Olds history. With its clean lines and numerous model offerings, it is clear to see why.
For consignment a 1971 4 door sedan in very nice condition. A mere 32,500 original miles have been clocked on this car, and it looks the part. Nice paint, good chrome, and clean interior, this 2-owner car has been pampered, and certainly garaged throughout its life. Plenty of paperwork including original sticker, and copious maintenance records will come with this car.
Exterior
Straight steel side panels, and trunk and hood with consistent gaps and covered in Sienna (Copper) respray, there are very few faults to be noted here. Certainly not perfect, but amazingly preserved for a 48 year old car. A Sandlewood vinyl top covers the passenger compartment and is in good condition. Up front a split grille is flanked by dual headlights on either side, and a large chrome bumper below. All is nice and tight and in good alignment with no rust or fading on chrome. Bringing up the curved to a point rear is a wraparound bumper that has the taillights imbedded within it. On all 4 corners we have body matching 5 spoke rally wheels with just a hint of chrome on them as well.
Interior
Opening one of the doors we are greeted by pristine textured vinyl stitched and buttoned with nice chrome accents, window cranks, and vinyl woodgrain panels, with copper carpeting below. A split front bench has a custom cushion extra padded sport front seat which is cloth covered seats, and vinyl backs, the rear is all vinyl. A look forward to the dash and a very clean one indeed, with copper padded vinyl and curved metal to match, and a vinyl woodgrain strip near the bottom. Factory air has been installed, and an aftermarket radio hangs below the dash, which still maintains the original radio within the upper dash. An original steering wheel fronts the dash, and copper carpeting in great shape floods the floors. The headliner looks good and tight, and it appears as though original lighting has been outfitted with LED lights.
Drivetrain
The original 350ci V8 with a single 4-barrel carburetor atop, and a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission behind, sits in a nicely patina engine bay. Nor restored, but still presenting nicely.
Undercarriage
Nice and straight with some undercoating and a small bit of surface rust, but the frame is strong and sturdy. A posi-trac rear is seen and power drum brakes are all around.
An extremely nice example from the year 1971. Cared for and garaged, a very clean car with 32,500 original miles. Interesting Sienna Color inside and out, with all surfaces in very nice condition. Nearly like a new penny, turn the key and start enjoying 1971 all over again.
