If you have been looking for that classic muscle car investment to restore then thisrare classic muscle car convertible may be exactly what you've been looking for. When this convertible was new this was not your Father's Oldsmobile unless you had the cool Dad on the block. They don't pop up for sale much anymore at a reasonable price. With the price of gas dropping way down this is the best time to jump right into the muscle car market.
These 1960's muscle cars have incredible investment potential and have often been referred to as rolling bank accounts. Why not make your money work for you while you enjoy restoring your dream car at the same time? The finished product is very rewarding when these cars are restored. Remember! When the top goes down the price goes up!This droptop can be painted and striped any color the new owner desires. All the parts are available at a wide variety of classic muscle car parts suppliers around the country.
( NO TITLE ) bill of sale only, (came from Georgi, no title state back the, easy to get from dmv, includes certified inspection by a duly constituted Georgia law enforcement officer, signed and dated .( Just did one last month like this .)
I have more projects than I have time left, so this restoration will be left up to the winning bidder. The prior owner told me this Olds does not have the original numbers matching Rocket 455. In fact everything under the hood appears to be all factory correct from 1969 . Never tampered with, besides a carb swap from what i can tell.
I just listed the mileage as unknow, did not check odometer . Obviously there is no way to verify the mileage as 100% correct on these older classics. The majority ofstates nowadays have the mileage showing as exempt on the new title's issued on cars 10 years or older.
The interior is mostly all there no carpet, strato bucket seats floor console floor shifte, in fair condition as well as a non perfect dash as seen in the pictures. all glass is there including rear glass window, not the plastic cheapo. Can be made into comfortable seats to cruise to the local drive-in movie theater.
The original floors look to be in fairly good condition, some hole, not major but the trunk will need some repair work and the the sides of frame rails have already been reinforced. I showed a picture of the new gas tan, has new master cylinder and new brake lines and hoses. These older classics that have survived for nearly half a century are becoming harder and harder to find with each passing year. This convertible will be safely stored until it is picked up or shipping is arranged.
I did not see any signs of this convertible being involved in any type of accidents. The convertible top is sho, top frame is in relatively nice condition. I didn't see any cracks or bends anywhere. The original California Convertible top boot is also a great optio, but missing not included, the chrome olds wheels in the pics are not include, comes with roll out, plain rusty steel wheels that hold air fine to be driven around on or easily loaded on a trailer with .
The entire body will need to be restored. The car has been sitting a while, buyer needs to tend to all the fluid, etc and probably replace with fresh. I am selling this car where every part and every piece on this car will need to be repaired, replaced, or restored to bring this droptop back to its former glory.
The majority of the paint appears origina, like it may have had one repaint at some point. There is some areas that were spot spray painted to protect those areas from the elements until the body is given the proper restoration. The trunk lid, hood are pretty solid . I've always believed that this hood is the coolest hood to look out at while you're cruising with the top up or down.
This 51-year old classic with little work can be used as a daily driver until the new owner gets around to restoring the car. There is a dead battery, in it now, but jumped it yesterday and it started . The car can be loaded up for transport, but the upper hose is leaking coolan, not a daily driver until the car is gone over fully.
With each passing year it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find a classic muscle car convertible with the air conditioning option.
The options on thisOldsmobileinclude Power Steering Front drum Brakes, Power Convertible Top, and Air Conditioning. It looks like all of the air conditioning components are present including the condenser in front of the radiator. The a/c compressor is still all hooked up including the a/c belt, so it may be functional again with a charge of Freon.
When these cars are restored properly steering these carsis simply a delight. These cars typically have finger tip control and drive down the road straight as an arrow. I didn't see much cracking on top of the dash pad and it looks in decent shape.
The OldsFaqs website made the statement All 69 convertible models are desirable whether a Cutlass Supreme Convertible was factory ordered as a 442, or not dealer installed, etc
This convertible has BIG BLOCK OLDS ROCKET 455 with 4bbl carb, upgraded HEI ignition for better and more reliable spark(no more fooling with points) Also has a automatic tran, and 12 -bolt " posi " rear-end as evidenced by the tag mounted towards the driver side of the housing cover, but I am unaware of the gear ratio. The original jack, jack stand, bumper mount, and crow bar are missing
The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has the 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible with air conditioning and the Rocket 455 listed at$33,515in high condition, which theyconsider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices.
Nada has the average condition listed at$19,262, which theyconsider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a20-Footer!
Nada hasthe lowest condition value at$12,843being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration, but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car, but would be considered as the price for a car needing a complete restoration. I believe whatever this classic convertible sells for in this "No Reserve" auction is a win/win proposition.
The Nada numbers don't lie! This Classic Convertible is a very valuable automobile if it is given the proper restoration.
This Oldsmobile is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these cars have consistently shown to escalate in value with each quarter. What you see is exactly what you get!
