1954 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Holiday
1954 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Description
I've had this car since 1997.Always garage kept. It has less than 87,000 miles which I believe to be correct. I've only put on maybe 10,000 in 23 years that I've owned it. I had some of the mechanical work(see copy of receipt) it needed done including, rebuild the steering box, rebuild carb, brakes redone, new shocks, new exhaust system, new radial whitewalls and front seatbelts. The car runs very well. It always starts. The Hydramatic Transmission works fine although you feel the shift points especially 1st to 2nd. Car is surprisingly quick from 30 to 70 and is very smooth. Definitely needs a repaint. It looks like it had a previous paint job and it is deteriorating. The green is incorrect for the year. There is a spot on the passenger side where body filler was used that came off and there is surface rust (see photo). The car is solid with no rust through but a few surface rust spots. Cracked paint on the hood. Interior is ok. Not sure if it's original. Also needs work on the door handles and back deck to improve it. Passenger window has a crack. Radio non functioning although I never used it. Heat blower works.Power seat motor works but seat doesn't move. Wipers are vacuum and don't seem to work. Power windows work although you have to press hard on them at times. It's a great running car that could easily be improved. Email any questions and I will answer as best I can.
