1970 Oldsmobile 442 Description

Up for auction is a very hard to find 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible that for the most part is a "survivor" car! It has never been restored to the best of my knowledge and it appears to retain most of the original paint with the exception of a few partial spot sprays over the decades. It still retains the paper vin tag on the drivers door as well as the tire p.s.i. tab, lso in the back drivers side rear window is the sticker from when the vehicle had Penzguard rustproofing applied by Moonans in Bradford Pa. I actually called the number listed and they are still in business but haven't been at the location listed on the decal since the early 70's!
There were only 2,933 convertible 442s made in 1970!! Now is your chance to get yourself one!! It's not your fathers Oldsmobile right!
Since Oldsmobile archives only go back to 1977 I had a hard time tracking down the history on this car. It was purchased from the second owner in January of 2015. His family owned an Oldsmobile dealership in a small town in Nebraska where they retained it sometime in the 80s up until selling it in 2015. They said that when they got the car it allegedly had approximately 20,000 original miles on it and he put another 1000 or so on it before it was stored in their warehouse until 2015.
Everybody knows how stories go! It absolutely drives like a low mileage car but it is 46+ years old. It does have the typical spots of rust at the bottom of the front quarters and the metal dash at the windshield transition. It is not an expensive fix but thought I would sell it as is, s a survivor. Also included with the car is the original interior build sheet, howing this specific 442 was born 10/7/69 making it a fairly early 1970 model.
The motor is the matching numbers F block 455, H400 automatic transmission, orrect Quadrajet carbuerator, 2 bolt posi rearend. The seats appear to be original but I believe the carpeting was replaced at one time or another. The interior still shows very well with typical wear on the trim and steering wheel. The specs for the 1970 442 was 365hp with 500 ft/lbs torque and 10.5/1 compression! It was reported back then to run a 13.94 1/4 mile.
I did replace the starter, lternator, ront shocksand recently the power brake booster, ut I do have all the original parts which will go with the new owner. The AM radio does not work nor have I attempted to figure out why, also have a stock AM/FM radio that goes with the car as well. This is a non AC car with few options such as Posi rearend, utomatic transmission, ower brakes, ap light, plit bench seat, ally wheels and remote drivers side mirror.
The top is in very good condition and is most likely a replacement, he motor for the power top still operates without any problems, here is also a boot cover for the top when it is in the down position.
Feel free to call, ext or email with any questions (602)697-6462. I do reserve the right to end the auction at anytime as it is listed elsewhere.
These are getting harder and harder to find and are climbing in value! A like condition W30 just sold at Russo and Steele for over 300K! I know this isn't a W30 but nonetheless it is a very solid number 3 1970 442 convertible!
