1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Description

This auction is for my 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Fiesta J2-W1 Tri Power wagon. Documented two owner car with 49K original miles. Needs full restoration, but not missing anything. It's one of 8,981 Super Fiesta’s built in 1957. Very few Fiesta’s were equipped with the W1-J2 motor, and not many restorable examples survive.

Factory ordered options:

• Golden Rocket 371 J2-W1 Tri-Power (310HP, 10/1 compression, Mallory dual point distributor, 394 cam, solid lifters, adjustable rockers)

• Power steering

• Power brakes

• Jetaway-Hydramatic

• Dual Exhaust

• Tinted glass (all)

• Deluxe radio

• Dealer installed Air Conditioning using the factory kit (complete and still sealed).

Original factory Black car (paint code 10-10), number matching, never modified, and still on the same title since 1960. Despite its weathered appearance, the car is very solid. No accident damage, all body panels are original. All chrome, and stainless are in good condition. All trim is present, and accounted for (except the fiesta emblems).

The following areas will need rust repair; driver side outer rocker panel (I have an OEM replacement), both front floor pans (which are already cut out), a patch in spare tire compartment, the bottom of the driver fender (just below the antenna), the driver side rear dog leg (base of wheelhouse), and a patch on both rear doors.

There is no other rust through on the car. The bottoms of the doors, rear floors, roof, quarter panels, tailgate... all solid. The rust is the result of fresh water/rain, not from salt corrosion. The passenger rear door glass is broken (replacement included), and the windshield is cracked. The interior is complete, but needs updating.

The previous owner disassembled the top end of the motor (50 years ago), and stored the parts in his garage. The car has been off the road since 1971. Everything in the pics goes with the car... original J2 Tri-Power set up, #16 heads with solid lifters (valve cover spacers to clear the rocker arm adjustment screws), original pistons, exhaust manifolds, double pulley a/c generator, the dual snorkel chrome air cleaner, and all bolts/brackets. I just installed 4 brand new tires, so the car rolls/steers easily. Please do your own research, you'll see the car has a lot of potential. It's extremely rare, and expensive if restored to factory original.

I have a rebuilt 1957 371 engine with less than 200 miles. It’s bored to .o6o over and it’s complete from intake to oil pan. I also have a complete rebuild kit for the Jetaway transmission... both will be offered first to whoever buys the car.

Please look at all the pictures. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. A non-refundable $500 Pay-Pal deposit is due when the auction ends. Balance due within 7 days after the auction ends. Payment to be via certified bank cashier's check, or cash in person (no personal checks/money orders accepted sorry). Checks need to clear before the vehicle, and title are released. The winning bidder needs to contact me within 24 hours of auction end to make final payment arrangements. I can assist with loading, but all transport arrangements are up to the buyer. I will store the car safely for up to 30 days while you secure transportation.
