1949 Oldsmobile 98 Description

Up for auction is a complete 1949 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday. This is a rust free Central Valley, California car. Built in Ohio and sent directly to the Valley. It's spent the past 40 years of it's life in a barn in Oakhurst CA, where we pulled it out of it's slumber. Over time, the factory soft parts deteriorated but the dry air kept the metal pristine. Factory options include power front seat and power windows. This car is a 100% complete roller. Body and paint work are finished in the factory Nankeen Creme with black top. Absolutely NO rust. There was one small rust spot on the floor under the seat, which has been cut out and replaced. Every part to reassemble the car is there, however some items will need to be replaced.
The interior is complete, but needs a complete restoration. The seat frames are complete, but will need new upholstery. The door panels are complete, but worn. They will make perfect templates. The glass is all complete, including New In Box right and left windshields, as well as all three rear windows. The side glass is there, but will need to be replaced. The existing side windows will make perfect templates for the new replacements. The wiring harness and weatherstripping will all need to be replaced as well. Fusick Automotive is where we get everything for these restorations and a catalog is included.
The suspension is all there and complete. I don't know what has been replaced or what needs to be replaced, as we got this car in pieces to restore and have never driven it. If we were to keep it and complete the restoration, we would be replacing the wheel bearings and go through the brake system.
The numbers matching 303 cid engine and Hydromatic transmissions are included, but both need complete rebuilds. This is a perfect car for a full factory restoration......sales brochures are included with the car, or to build a daily driver with a custom interior and drive-train with an LS and 6 speed. The bones are all there and solid, you build to suit your dreams.
