1986 442 real deal-needs work
1986 Oldsmobile 442 Description
For sale is a 1986 442. It has a 1987 Euro style header panel on the car. Body is VERY nice. The underside is clean and solid. Rust free doors and clip. There is a minimal spot on the right quarter thats the only body issue on the car. The paint is nice looking and respectable but it is NOT perfect. The interior is factory stock and is decent. Has some fading on the seats and upper door panels. No rips or tears, carpet is decent. Aftermarket detach face cd stereo. New rear 4x10 speakers still in the box not installed. factory tilt, sport wheel, power trunk release, gauges and power windows all work as they should. Power locks arent working, car had cruise control and a/c but were removed during the build. I have the a/c parts to be included not sure about the cruise parts though. RARE factory astro roof works as it should. Factory 8.5 rear end with 3:73 gears, sorry no posi though. New complete true dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. New aftermarket tubular trans crossmember for dual exhaust. New headers. Fresh built 2004R transmission with new trans mount. The trans has both Chevrolet and oldsmobile bellhousing pattern so if you want to put a Chevy motor in the car just change the mounts and headers. New wheels and tires. Engine is a mild early 70s 350 that has a new distributor, motor mounts, timing chain and plugs. Brand new high torque mini starter. Cooling system has a new radiator, water pump, thermostat and upper hose. Carburetor is a quadrajet built and jetted for this setup and works great. So heres what it needs for work. Car runs and moves but on the way home from a show the oil pump went out and it has a slight bearing noise. I found a kit with all the engine bearings, gaskets, rings, oil pump and timing chain for $265. If you buy it now, I will include the kit with the car, you just have to do the work. So it will need to be trailered home. I can also provide delivery for a fee, please ask before bidding. i have the original 307 that came out of the car if you want it I can include it with the sale. I may consider partial trades, throw it out there and we'll see. Worst I can say is not interested. Please note. If you place a bid/make an offer and I accept, you WILL own a car. This is a contract, not a game. Car is sold as is and has NO guarantee or warranty so please ask your questions BEFORE you make an offer. I am upfront and honest, I expect the same from the buyer.
