1992 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon Impala SS Clone
1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Description
It pains me to do this but I have to sell my beautiful Custom Cruiser wagon. I have owned this car for about 5 1/2 years and have loved every minute of it. She started as a super clean white wagon and after I got her she was transformed into an Impala SS wagon (the one Chevy never made but should have). The color change was beautifully done by a very well respected paint shop so you would never know the car was not a factory black paint job. This car is in terrific condition inside and out. She is not perfect (I drive her every day) but she is certainly a head turner. She is a perfect candidate for someone who wants to build a hot rod wagon or show car.I had planned to replace the engine with an LT1 but 5 1/2 years later she runs so good it just never happened.Everything is straight and there is absolutely no rust on this car. The rear door handles were shaved from the outside (inside handles work normally) to give the car that 2 door wagon look. Every day I get thumbs up on the highway and people asking where I got the SS wagon.
She has the original drive train (305 V8) that runs great with a custom exhaust that makes her sound amazing going down the road. The suspension was lowered with the addition of custom springs ordered for this application and matching KYB performance shocks on all 4 corners. For a car this size she handles remarkably well. The 18 inch American Racing wheels really pull it all together and the blue leather interior looks great and is extremely comfortable with dual power seats. The carpets are in very good condition with the usual sun fading in spots and the normal wear areas near the drivers foot rest. The windows were professionally tinted with a scratch in the tint on one side rear window.
The only defects are as follows: the cruise control stopped working a few months ago, he ABS light is on in the dash and there is the normal small block V8 oil drip when the car is parked for a few days. I have not fixed these items because to be honest they don't effect the performance or ride quality of the car.
This car is very dependable and has never let me down. She is a great highway cruiser and gets 24 MPG on the highway. You could drive this car anywhere. Fly in and drive her home. She is a great candidate for that cross country cruise you have been dreaming of (me too).
I have purchased a 63 Thunderbird (a car I have dreamed of owning since high school 30+years ago) and so the black beauty has to go. Feel free to ask any questions. Please no dreamers or tire kickers. No bidders with under a 5 score or guys that need their wife's permission after they win the bid. I reserve the right to delete bids that don't meet this criterion. These cars are very rare with just 4,347 made in 1992 (the last year of production). If you are looking for something special this is it, id it to win it. Thanks.
