1929 Oakland All American Six
1929 Other Makes All American Six Standard Sedan Description
If you are looking at this you are probably alreadyfamiliar with an Oakland automobile, if not here is a brief history. Oakland started selling cars in 1907, they were made in the Pontiac Spring and Wagon Works. By 1909 Oakland was bought out by G.M.C. In 1926 Oakland introduced a companion car called the Pontiac. It became so popular that by 1932 the Oakland name tag was dropped, only Pontiacs would be built from then on. What you are bidding on is a 1929 Oakland 4 door standard sedan, job number 8770. The pictures pretty much tell the story, a car needing a complete restoration. The metal body panels are in very good condition but the wood structure will need to be replaced. The car is mostly complete and as of a few years ago was running and could move under it's own power. I have not tried starting this car in several years now. I have owned this car for over 20+ years and it has always been stored inside while I have owned it. I would also like to include in this auction at least 3 parts cars (or parts from three cars) and one mostly complete 1929 Oakland convertible cabriolet. The cabriolet was purchased out of Canada by me back in 1993. The car wasdisassembledwhen I bought it and is still in the same condition today. When I inventoried what was there the main part missing was the top bows, everything else seemed to be there. One of the parts cars has all six wire wheels along with the welled front fenders. There are plenty of parts here to finish the 4 door sedan and most parts to compete the cabriolet. I was the secretary for the Oakland club years ago and during that time I could ;not find another Canadian built 1929 cabriolet inexistence, this could possibly be the only surviving example. All of the parts and parts cars are stored in an 8'x8'x40' metal shipping container. I would like to include this in the auction too. So what you are bidding on is one mostly complete 1929 Oakland four door sedan. 3- 1929 Oakland 4 door sedan parts cars (or parts from the same). 1- 1929Oakland Convertible Cabriolet.mostly complete butdisassembled. And a storage container. I would be willing to pay the expenses for loading the container onto your flatbed truck. It could be lifted into place with a crane and then unloaded the same way are your site. Please email with any questions you have. I am not really sure what all of these cars and parts are worth, I need you to tell me. I do know that replacement cost on the container alone is over $3000, at least where I live. I will also include a small collection of Oakland literature which includes shop manuals, owners manuals, factory color chips, etc. None of these come with titles. I could obtain a title once the VIN #'s were verified. Thanks for looking.
