1936 2nd generation reproduction Auburn 852 Speedster - Boat tail Was build and assembled in 1974 and is titled as 1936 Auburn. We have all ORIGINAL documentation and brochures from Auburn created in 1936 The Auburn Boat tail Speedster is considered one of the most striking cars to ever hit the open road! As Auburn dedicated itself to art-deco design styles, t employed some of the best designers of the era. With the model 851 and 852 Speedster credits going to designer Gordon Buehrig, ery few were ever made before Auburn had to close its doors in 1936 forever. Because of this, hey became highly sought after for highline collectors and reproduced heavily by a great number of replica car manufactures for enthusiasts.
One of the original manufacturers was Antique Autos of America based out of Largo, L. As a prominent classic car restoration facility already, t began to produce some of the most highly acknowledged Auburn and Cord replicas ever manufactured professionally. It was largely under the supervision of project manager, ichael Atkins, ho now owns and operates Speedster Motorcars in their new facility in Clearwater, L. These were factory built with all new components - no used or junk yard parts like most of the older builds. They were updated from the original design retaining all the original looks and lines but improving everything with modern mechanical components, ven the cabin length was increased to accommodate a taller person.
Instead of driving like a 1936 car, t drives like a modern sports car, ith rack & pinion steering and disc brakes.
