Up for bid is a 1963 Amphicar 770 - one of the most iconic vehicles ever designed and mass-produced for the public. Only about ~3900 of these were ever built, and few really nice examples exist today. This is chassis #100573.
This car has definitely seen better days, however virtually EVERYTHING is repairable.
Gordon Imports in Santa Fe Springs, CA has virtually everything you need to make this car a show car again, including lower quarter/wheel panels, lower door panels, etc. The floor panels are in great shape, and do not appear to me to need replacing.
Although a bit rough around the edges, this is actually a very complete car. It includes the engine, trans, running gear and suspension, steering, brake components, virtually all engine compartment accessories, seat frames, shifter linkage, pedal cluster, windshield (not shown), doors and door locks, all (4) main windows and regulators, propellers, prop shafts, etc., etc., and everything shown in the photos. Again - everything you'd need to complete a restoration of this car is available from Gordon Imports. At some time in the past, a previous owner apparently thought it would be an improvement to the car to cut off the rear fins. As such, a replacement set of fins also come w/ the car.
It is available for viewing/inspection in Irvine, CA near John Wayne Airport. Please call to arrange at 949) 933-33.8. 4.
As this car has been in storage for at least 20yrs, it is no longer in the DMV system, and will come with a Bill of Sale ONLY.
Upon sale, a $500 payment via PayPal is required within 48hrs., full balance within 1 week - or whatever financial arrangement is agreeable to Seller.
I will gladly cooperate w/ Buyer's transport company if it is to be transported.
