1932 Auburn Phaeton Convertible 8-100
1932 Other Makes Description
This rare and beautiful Auburn is one of many cars I will be selling for a friend who's husband has passed. To start off this 1932 classic was purchased back in 2008 for around $60k and was used shortly after in their daughter's wedding. This car was a very nice running, driving beauty prior the disassembly. The owner wanted to take this auto to the next level by doing a engine bay resto along with having the engine rebuilt, unfortunately he passed before it could be finished. This will be an incredible buy for anyone considering this car was a solid #3 in the Classic Car Pricing Guide valued at $78,500. This Auburn taken to the next level of restoration could be valued somewhere between $120k to $175k! The interior shows very nice in its soft black leather and the paint is in good condition. The plan was to keep it in its current paint while refinishing it from the firewall foward however it will be up to the next lucky owner to decide that. Here is a breakdown of whats been done so far:--New pistons, rings--reconditioned engine block--reconditioned crank--head is clean and ready for paint--camshaft looks to be in good working order (possibly reconditioned)--all new engine gasket set--all new valves--engine is ready for reassembly with the exception of paint--clutch, flywheel has been re-surfaced--clutch pressure plate may or may not need turned--transmission was in good working order when removed--engine bay has been stripped and ready for paint firewall etc.--front end brake system (brake drums, pedal assembly, components etc) have been stripped/sand blasted and ready for paint--Most all exposed bolts, nuts, screws have been cleaned and ready for paint/plating--all disassembled components have been bagged, tagged and nicely documented with drawn diagrams showing all locations for reassembly including all wiring--essentially the car was stripped from the firewall forward for refurbishing with the exception of the body paint which shows to be in good condition.
As you can see close to $10k more has been spent on this car since its purchase in 2008. This car will come with most of all receipts spent, some Auburn literature and a clear, clean title. The first 3 pics are from when it was first purchased and will still look that nice when put back together. Upon the sale of this automobile I can help with loading of the vehicle and boxing of the parts. All the parts are there and currently the car does roll and steer. Bid with confidence as there are not many of these around or available. Thank you
