1967 Sunbeam Alpine
1967 Other Makes Description
This auction is for a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine with removable hardtop. I am the third owner of this car. I've had it for 5 years. I bought it from a collector that had the car shipped to NC approximately 15 years ago. He purchased the car from the original California owner. It has been in California all it's life except the for the last 15 years here in NC. It has been garaged it's entire life and still has the factory lacquer paint on the body as well as the hardtop. I've read that all the hardtops for these cars were black from the factory. Overall, he car is in very good condition. It is unrestored, o there are age related flaws such as some minor paint chips and crazing to the lacquer paint. There is no rust which is so common with these cars. The interior is very good, ut does show some age, he most notable is a tear in the headliner about 2 inches long that was repaired years ago. The dash is excellent and the mileage is original, owever, he speedometer/odometer stopped working last summer at 66,799 miles. It has been driven approximately 500 miles since then, o has not accrued much more miles. I have a very nice rebuilt speedometer that will come with the car. Soft top is intact behind seats but most likely would need replacing. I have never had it up to inspect it, ut was told by the prior owner it's not in the best shape. Engine runs well, ut has never been reworked as you can see from the pictures it is very original. The car starts, tops and performs as it should.Iuse Shell 30 ND oil as the manual suggests and high test gas to protect the engine. The car is very reliable and dependable. It's a pleasure to drive. Tires are the original type BF Goodrich tires. The headlights are the factory original Lucas brand bulbs. The stripes appear to have been on the car for years and I have seen factory pictures of these cars new with the same stripes. I think they give it a mod look with the black and white color combo. This is a very nice example of a fairly rare car with the Chrysler emblem on the right front fender. Chrysler distributed these at the end of their run in 1967 and early '68.
