Bob Butts Style 1966 Batmobile Replica. Partially finished.
As you are probably already aware there are no more replica kits being made by the kit manufacturers since DC put a halt to the dealer sales a few years ago. The only authorized dealer for these replicas is Fiberglass Freaks and they only sell completed cars. The Bob Butts replicas are the most desired of all the kits because they were molded off one of the original Batmobiles. The other replicas are “sculpted” to mimic the dimensions of the Batmobile.
This body is made from a flame retardant vinyl ester resin, which is extremely strong but lightweight. It is mounted to a 1978 Lincoln Continental. The car came from Florida and was in excellent shape. The bodywork, paint and final assembly are still needed.
The body was cut off leaving floor, trunk and firewall. The frame was sandblasted and painted with POR 15.
New brakes and brake lines were done.
The engine was pulled and rebuilt. It has been repainted red and runs strong. A new low profile air cleaner was added. The manifolds were ceramic coated silver. New hoses, red spark plug wires, spark plugs and coil were added. A new high output Powermaster alternator, chrome valve covers, electric fan and an EZ wiring kit were added. The new fan is not wired yet.
Metal tubing skeleton framework was made and the body mounted.
The doors are hinged and swinging, needing final adjustments and body work.
New OEM exhaust system was installed. I wanted it to be quiet like the original Lincolns since I had planned on installing the Turbine sound running out of rear speakers.
New B&M floor shifter has been added and is operational.
The canopy windshields are made of ¼” aircraft grade Lexan.
The rear turbine housing has been installed.
The three chrome rocket tubes have been mounted and are adjustable.
The door panel’s arch, and seats have been professionally upholstered as well as the rear louvered deck panel and the box under the rear arch.
I have a professionally made (expensive) dual battery wiring set up and dual battery switch ready to install as I was planning on moving the battery(s) to the compartment behind the seats.
I also have a Dakota Digital gear selector with digital read out.
I purchased this car 2 years ago in the current condition. I have personally done very little to it (other than the exhaust system) as it is in line behind a number of other car projects that I am working on. I have collected, bought or built a long list of the interior gadget items that are needed to make this just like the TV show car. Only the realization that it will be a long time before I can give it my full attention is why I am reluctantly putting it up for sale. I have it titled in my name as a 78 Lincoln and have the metal VIN plate. Currently insured with Hagerty for $46,000
Please ask questions and I will be happy to fill you in on anything you want to know including all the items I have for it. Remember this is a replica kit that need finishing. They are no longer being made. I have links below to what some of these have sold for when completed and a link for a completed one currently on EBay. Or you could try to buy the original as I hear it’s up for sale again for around $4,500,000.
A deposit of $500 must be made through Paypal within 48hrs after close of auction.
If you have negative feedback or no feedback contact me before bidding.
Car must be picked up and won't be released until paid in full and funds clear.
I can help with loading the car for transport and packing all the items.

Adding some additional information since I have had a number of the same questions;
Trunk and Hood are cut out, metal tubing glassed into place. They still need to be hinged.
I have front directional /park lights. No headlight buckets or tail lights. Wiring is from an EZ wiring kit with fuse box and is set up with wires labeled ready to go.
When I purchased the car 2 yrs. ago I drove it on and off the trailer and 50' down the driveway into the garage. Transmission, brakes, engine were great. It has been on my storage lift since that time.
Car sits on old wheels and tires.
